New Delhi [India], July 29 (ANI): BJP leader and Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Tuesday slammed the Congress for 'accepting the partition', which is a 'black spot' in the nation's history.
Majumdar, speaking to ANI outside the parliament, said that Congress was 'solely responsible' for the division of the country.
'It is a historical fact that during the independence procedure, Congress accepted the partition, as a result of which Pakistan was created, so Congress is solely responsible for it. It is a black spot in the history of our country... Many mistakes were made by Congress,' he said.
Earlier in the day, Amit Shah criticised Congress amid the ongoing debate in Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor and said Jawaharlal Nehru was responsible for India not a member of the UN Security Council.
'Today, China is in the UN Security Council, and India is not. Modi is trying his best to get India to become a part of the UN Security Council. Jawaharlal Nehru's stand is responsible for this. When our jawans were facing Chinese soldiers in Doklam, Rahul Gandhi was holding a meeting with the Chinese ambassador. This love for China has been passed down three generations from Jawaharlal Nehru, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi,' Shah said.
Shah, in his address, also confirmed that three terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack were eliminated by the security forces during the recent Operation Mahadev in Jammu and Kashmir.
'In a joint Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army, CRPF, and J&K Police have neutralised three terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack,' Shah said while addressing the lower house.
'Innocent civilians were killed in front of their families by asking their religion. I condemn this barbaric act. I express my sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones,' he added.
The Home Minister also informed Lok Sabha that the Lashkar-e-Taiba top commander Suleman, involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, was among the three terrorists killed by security forces.
'... In Operation Mahadev, Suleman alias Faizal, Afghan and Jibran--these three terrorists were killed in a joint operation of the Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police... Suleman was an A-category commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Afghan was an A-category Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist. And Jibran was also an A-grade terrorist... All three terrorists who killed our citizens in the Baisaran valley have been eliminated...,' Shah said. (ANI)
