China Media Group (CMG) on Friday kickstarted its exhibitions on the history and culture of the Chinese civilization to audiences in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions (SARs).
The exhibitions are part of CMG's global roadshow named "Journey Through Civilizations" which was launched in late June this year. Using multimedia, digitalization and immersive technologies, the show displays archaeological discoveries important to the origin of the Chinese civilization, and demonstrates the evolution of the Chinese civilization and its diverse culture.
In a video address to the launching ceremonies, CMG President Shen Haixiong noted that the Chinese civilization is the only uninterrupted civilization in the world, with legacies accumulated through the long history of human civilization. The Chinese people are building their modern civilization, which will promote new progress of human civilization, according to him.
He welcomed people in Hong Kong and Macao to learn more about the Chinese civilization through the exhibitions.

Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), said in his speech that the exhibitions offer a platform for audiences to experience the Chinese culture and its 5,000 years of history by themselves.
Ao Ieong U, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao Special Administrative Region, said in her speech that the Macao SAR government will continue to encourage young people in Macao to learn the Chinese civilization and contribute to the construction of the Chinese modern civilization and its cultural strength.

From June to November, the global tour is expected to travel to the United States, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Kenya, Peru, among other countries.
The archaeological discoveries displayed include cultural relics of the Hongshan culture, China's most well-known Neolithic culture, and Sanxingdui Ruins which can be dated back to the Bronze Age.
